Migrating your theme
There is no universal standard or format for website themes that is shared between e-commerce platforms or different website providers. This means that themes are not interchangeable or usable on other platforms and are specific to the individual platform. As a result, it is not possible to directly transfer a theme or template from another provider like Shopify or WooCommerce to ShopWired, even if you have bought and paid for a theme on another platform.
Instead, you will need to select and customise a ShopWired theme for your ShopWired website. You can use the theme editor on ShopWired to customise your theme to closely match your existing one. If you are looking to exactly replicate your existing website, it's likely you won't be able to do so using only the customisation options available in the theme editor and will need to edit your ShopWired theme's code.
Website and theme design
ShopWired offers 20 different themes that you can install and customise in your ShopWired account. Your website's theme determines its design, layout and functionality - and also the customisation options available to you through the theme editor.
ShopWired provides a specific set of help guides relating to all aspects of the themes that it provides and how to customise them. Read more about themes and website design.
Landing and website pages
Landing and website pages
ShopWired's landing pages feature allows you to create media-rich content pages for your website. You can use the feature to design unique pages tailored to specific marketing campaigns, promotions, or informational content without the need for coding, replicating any existing landing pages you have on your current website.
ShopWired's website pages feature allows you to create standard text or information pages. You can use the feature to create pages such as 'Privacy Policy' and 'Terms and Conditions'.
When migrating your "content" pages across to your new ShopWired website, you should use the most appropriate feature depending on the type of page that you are creating.
Menus
Menus
Every theme on ShopWired contains two types of menus:
- At least one automatic menu which displays your website's categories and subcategories
- A collection of link list menus that you can control (configuring the individual links within each link list)
When you create new pages for your website, they won't be automatically included in your link list menus and you'll instead need to add them. Read more about link lists.
Navigation structure is an important ranking factor for many search engines like Google. If you're concerned about preserving your rankings in search results when migrating to ShopWired, it's important for you to try and replicate your existing website menus as closely as possible on your ShopWired website.
