eBay stock sync
ShopWired's eBay app can sync stock levels between ShopWired products and eBay listings where either:
- The ShopWired product was created by importing an eBay listing
- The eBay listing was created by exporting a ShopWired product
When using the stock sync functionality, you must choose which platform you will use as the primary stock platform. The chosen primary stock platform should be the platform on which you sell the most or where you will manage your stock from (for example, when you receive a delivery of new stock).
To configure your stock sync settings, navigate to Apps > eBay.
Send stock updates from ShopWired to eBay
- To select ShopWired as your primary stock platform, select

for this setting - To select eBay as your primary stock platform, select

Import stock updates from eBay to ShopWired
- If you have selected ShopWired as your primary stock platform, this setting will not appear
- If you have selected eBay as your primary stock platform, to import stock updates from eBay, select

When ShopWired is your primary stock platform
When ShopWired is selected as your primary stock platform, a new stock event triggered on ShopWired will usually be synced to eBay immediately (and nearly always within a few minutes).
When eBay is your primary stock platform
When eBay is selected as your primary stock platform, if the stock of a listing changes as a result of an order, this will usually be synced to ShopWired within 15 minutes of the order being placed. When the stock of a listing changes as a result of a manual adjustment to the stock level on eBay, this will usually be synced to ShopWired within 2 hours.

The definition of a new stock event is when one of the following occurs on a product in ShopWired or an eBay listing:
- The stock quantity for a SKU is changed when creating or editing a product
- The stock quantity for a SKU is changed on the stock management page
- The stock quantity for a SKU is changed from a stock import into the stock management page
- The stock quantity for a SKU is changed from an API request to the
/stock
endpoint on ShopWired - An order is created or received on ShopWired for the SKU
- An order is created on ShopWired through the API
- The stock quantity is changed on eBay
- An order is created on eBay
- The option is used for a product in an imported eBay order

When stock is not synced
Stock will not be changed on eBay when one of the following events occurs. These events are known as invalid eBay stock events:
- When using the ShopWired product import system to update stock levels
- When using the ShopWired product API endpoint to update stock levels for a product
- When using the ShopWired variations API endpoint to update stock levels for a variation
- The product on ShopWired is not linked to an eBay listing
- ShopWired attempts to send a stock level of
0
to eBay, but the Keep out of stock listings alive setting is not active (described below)

eBay's "keep out of stock listings alive" setting
When making changes to stock levels through eBay’s API, eBay rejects any change to a product or variation stock quantity to 0
unless you have specifically set in your eBay account to Keep out of stock listings alive.
To change this setting:
- Log in to your eBay account
- Navigate to Selling preferences
- Locate the Multi-quantity listings section
- Select the toggle beside Listings stay active when you're out of stock to ensure the setting is set to
active
