eBay item specifics
Item specifics are additional data points about eBay listings that are used by eBay to improve search results, helping potential buyers to more easily find the products they are looking for through eBay's search. Item specifics also give potential buyers additional information when viewing a listing.
ShopWired supports the use of eBay item specifics when creating or editing ShopWired products to list on eBay. Some item specifics are already available through the use of dedicated fields on ShopWired:
- GTIN/EAN (in the Additional information section)
- MPN (in the Additional information section)
- Condition (in the eBay information section)
- Brand (in the Categorise the product section)
You can create and configure any other item-specific information using ShopWired's feature.

Install the custom fields app
Before creating the item-specific settings, install the custom fields app:
- Navigate to Apps
- Locate the Custom fields app
- Select

Configure custom fields
Once you have installed the app, to create a custom field for a corresponding item specific:
- Navigate to Settings > Custom fields
- Select
add a new custom field - Select
productfor the Item type setting - Enter the Name as ebay_x replacing x with the name of the custom field, e.g. ebay_intended_use or ebay_type
- Enter the Label as the item-specific name appears on eBay, e.g. Intended Use or Type
- Select

When creating or editing a product, locate the Custom fields section to enter eBay item-specific information for the product.

You can also configure custom field data using the product import/export system using the Custom Field - ... columns.

Many item specifics are optional, and eBay does not require item-specific information to accept a listing. However, eBay is increasingly imposing required item specifics for listings. The requirements for item-specific information are different depending on the category of the product.
