ShopWired has partnered with Cloudflare a leading internet performance and security platform that provides advanced protection against and , while also ensuring more secure connections for websites.
We are now inviting ShopWired users to take advantage of this additional protection by making a change to their domain name's DNS records.
If your domain name's DNS record currently points directly to ecommercedns.uk
or 54.247.109.89
, changing this record to dns.shopwired.net
(having first followed step 1 below) will route traffic to your website through Cloudflare's advanced protection platform. Making this change will not adversely affect your website and won't cause any .
The migration process is described below. If you need assistance in completing the migration, contact support.
Step 1 - Generating an SSL certificate
Step 1 - Generating an SSL certificate
The first step of the migration process is to add a new DNS record to your domain name. This DNS record ensures that Cloudflare can issue an SSL certificate for your domain name. The required DNS record is unique to your ShopWired account and domain name.
To generate the DNS record:
- Within ShopWired, navigate to Website settings > Domain name
- Locate the Domain protection migration section and select the
begin migration
option - When the page reloads, a DNS record will be displayed

¹ Ensure that you change yourdomain.com to your website's domain or subdomain name.
Log in to the platform where your domain name's DNS is managed (this will usually be the same platform that you registered your domain name with) and create the new DNS record.
Wait for approximately 1 hour:
- Return to the domain name page
- Locate the DNS verification section, select the
retry verification
option and check that the page changes to displaySSL CNAME record present
- Locate the SSL certificate section
- Check that the section displays
SSL live
- Proceed to step 2 below

Once you have confirmed that the SSL certificate has been generated:
- Log in to the platform where your domain name's DNS is managed
- Locate the existing DNS record that points to
ecommercedns.uk
- Select to edit the record and change
ecommercedns.uk
todns.shopwired.net
After approximately 1 hour, return to the domain name page and select the retry verification
option in the DNS verification section. Check that the page changes to display CNAME record present
and that your website is working normally.

Once the page displays CNAME record present
, the migration process has been successfully completed.
